These are beautiful hand made Otomi pillow shams from Oaxaca Mexico. On a recent trip I was able to collect a few and I love the presentation. I love color, especially in a living room and bedroom. As an artist and collector I don’t just stop at art, I love anything that can be worn or displayed. Oaxaca is a small town where the Otomi culture make these designs by hand. Mexico aside from what you see in television is not always beautiful. You have people putting their heart and soul in these eclectic pieces. It amazes me the rich history these designs have along with the hands that make them. These hand woven animals are those that can been seen from years passed. I’m passionate about my culture and that is something you can see through my art work.
I will add the pillow Inisde the sham, it’s nothing special and can be replaced. The pillows I make by hand with new material purchased here in the states.
I would dry clean these to make sure they last or hand wash and lay flat to dry. Made with cotton canvas.
